Don’t you love it when you read a book or hear a sermon and you suddenly grasp on to a new way of looking at a specific idea? A light came on for me this week as I read, “I Give You Glory, O God,” by Jerry Bridges. He equated the words, delight and enjoy, with the idea of “fearing God”. Somehow it reduces the weight and the concern that “fear” just naturally carries with it. Instead it embraces the opportunity that God will be glorified when my heart is rejoicing in the wonder of His power and creativity. When I am enjoying His presence and love for me. When I eagerly considering how I can please Him more. I’m His and He is mine – what a joy and delight it is to live in that reality!
