It is very unlikely, from our point of view, that Psalm 15 was the song that the Israelite children asked their parents to sing to them over and over again. It may not have been the anthem that the Israelite choir loved to sing for their worship services, but then again, maybe it was! Perhaps David and those people understood that coming into God’s presence was serious business. Is it possible that being reminded of God’s holiness and our tendency to rationalize our behavior, rather than call it sin, would be good for all of us? Today, Lord, help me to grasp in a deeper way that integrity and truth, kind and gentle words and actions, keeping every promise, and unselfishness are what is pleasing to You. “There’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey!”
