Would you agree that there is a much greater value placed on tolerance in our culture today than on conviction? The fact is that if you take a public stand on almost any of the “hot topics” which are being widely discussed, you could be the one who is ostracized. Because of this, the temptation is to be silent or to retreat into our own little safe circles of people who agree with us. While there is absolutely no need to argue about the things that are not central and basic to my faith, the question that I want to be asking myself is, “what does it look like to graciously as well as courageously stand up for the truth that is given to us in God’s Word?”
