It’s not easy to put into one concise sentence the many ideas encapsulated in the words “to fear God”. Your definition may look quite different than mine and we could both be totally correct. For today, here is my summary and my prayer: “To fear God means to bow down throughout every day in humility, willingly submitting to God’s magnetic love, amazing grace and His purposes, while being equally conscious of His righteousness, holiness, and justice.”
Would you be willing to share your definition with us?
To me the Fear of the Lord is:
To stand amazed, with my mouth wide open, yet not able to speak, because of His power and glory.
To live my life in respect and awe of Him, the only God, the Creator, Savior, King of King and Lord of Lords.
To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen.
