When you think about it, we are all “slaves” to one thing and another. It is interesting to ponder and come up with some of the possibilities – our routines, schedules, reputation, entitlements, image, work demands, expectations in relationships, or the desire for fulfillment or satisfaction. What would you add to the list? When in reality, our story could be so much simpler. Jesus invites us to listen to one voice, HIS. When we know that we belong to ADONAI, the Lord, then all of these other “masters” either become insignificant or no longer have too much power over us. “Thank you, Jesus, that you will help me today to discern Your voice above all others. I want to joyfully serve you alone!”
