Isn’t it interesting that God did not send Moses up to the top of the hill alone? Moses was wise enough to let a younger man whom he trusted lead the battle so that he could hold up the “staff of God”, reminding everyone that victory was totally a gift from Jehovah. He was also humble enough to acknowledge that he wanted to have faithful companions with him so that when he grew weary, they could provide the support and assistance that he would need. “Thank you, Lord, that You have given to me dear friends and companions who encourage me and strengthen my faith. May I be wise and humble enough to accept the provisions and counsel that You give to me through their kindness and insight.”
