Why is it that adults find it so easy to make very simple truths into complex ideas? Could it be a fascination with the ability to use big words or the feeling that long explanations represent wisdom? Whatever the reason, when it comes to some bottom line philosophy, there is one idea that is probably best expressed in its simplest form. A short, but repeated phrase in a well-known children’s song says it all. “Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so.” Because it is at the same time a very basic idea and yet a very complex concept, it is understandable to a young child and yet deeply meaningful to the most educated adult.
When it comes to the subject of prayer, we can talk about the mysteries that surround intercession, supplication, and so much more, but here is the simple truth that will greatly influence how and when you pray. “Yes, Jesus hears me. Yes, Jesus hears me. Yes, Jesus hears me. He loves to answer prayer.”
Jesus hears me when I pray. He delights to hear me say, “Heavenly Father, I love You, all because You love me, too.
When the answers are slow to come, just remember who they’re from. In His time, He’ll answer you, ‘cause He knows best, it always true.
It’s not because you are so good and you do the things you should. It’s because He loves you so, His grace and mercy make you grow.
It’s in His presence you will find, His joy and total peace of mind. He always says, “Please ask some more. My blessing on you I will pour.”
If you ask, I’ll give you rest. My ways are good. They’re always best. He says, “Please trust Me and obey and I will guide you all the way.”
Simple truths and yet so profound!
