Why did Paul pray that God would “sanctify through and through” or “make holy in every way” these new believers? How does that happen? Perhaps it is a bit like remodeling a house. The builder has the plans, the tools, the materials, and the vision for what the completed project will look like. Wouldn’t it be a tragedy if the house itself could make decisions about the process, resist the “tearing out the old”, or even put its own desires first? How foolish that would be. “Oh, Lord, I am so grateful that You have the best plans for my life and that you are totally faithful and capable and willing to make this remodel happen. Keep on doing what You want to do, I pray.”
