Sharing an Insight – Lesson 8

Have you ever had the best of intentions and been completely misunderstood? It’s a hard place to be. You know why you said what you said or did what you did, but your motives were not clear to others. So, who is responsible to start the peace process?
Who should be willing to start the conversation that will lead to reconciliation and understanding? Clearly, no one needs to wait or delay the process. But that’s what we are prone to do – when we listen our human nature. Jesus said, “So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple (coming to God for worship or in prayer) and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.” (Matthew 5:23 – 24) Lord, help me not to wait, not to rationalize, not to ruminate, but to go when your Spirit prompts me to seek forgiveness or gain understanding so that my friendship and peace will be restored – and my behavior will reflect the One who came so that I could be reconciled to God.
