Joshua made some mistakes, didn’t he? He wasn’t perfect, but he is remembered to this day because he “left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded him to do”. He conquered the entire land – one enemy, one king, one community at a time. He kept on going day after day, year after year, without doubting, questioning, or losing his motivation or his commitment. Did he do this in his own strength? Never – it was always the Lord, his God, who went before him and was with him and made him victorious. Sounds a lot like what the Holy Spirit wants to do for you and me today, doesn’t it? “Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” So, Lord, because of Your power working in me, I can stand firm and trust You. I Corinthians 15: 57 – 58
