What do you picture when you hear the word “secure”? The first scene that comes to my mind is a sweet little baby, wrapped in a soft blanket, resting contentedly in the tender arms of his/her mother. Perhaps you pictured a family safe in their underground shelter waiting for the tornado warnings to pass or even a young child at peace in the strong arms of his/her daddy, totally unaware of the possible danger that lurks around the corner. That’s the kind of life that God longs to give you and me as we put our hope in Him – at rest, safe, at peace, calm, reassured. “Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken” – Psalm 62: 5 – 6. “Dear Heavenly Father – thank you that today you are my hope and my safe place.”
