Why is it that so often we not only want but really expect that God will answer our prayers in the way that we want Him to respond? We pray for courage and He brings into our lives a bigger challenge. We pray for patience and He allows us to experience an additional delay. We pray for strength and our weakness seems to increase. We pray for healing and a new symptom appears. Perhaps we are more like Naaman than we would like to admit! So, today, dear LORD, help me to recognize that You are always accomplishing Your purposes in my life and that it is in the giving up of my plans, my need for control, and my schedule that I will see that You are God and You are good. You alone are God!
