A good friend of mine died this week. As she lay in a coma following a very severe stroke, the family gathered and waited because they knew the time was coming quickly for her to leave them. As her daughter bent done and softly said to her, “Mom, you know you’re not alone”, a wide smile came across her mother’s face. Then, to the shock of her family, she quietly whispered, “Jesus is here. He has a place prepared for me.” And soon she slipped away to live in the presence of Jesus. When you hear these stories, it makes you smile. But I believe, they come only out of a life that has been lived as Peter described. “Look forward to the day. Think clearly about what is real and what is temporary.” The song reiterates what is so true, “It will be worth it all when we see Jesus. Life’s trials will seem so small when we see Christ. One glimpse of His dear face all sorrow all erase, so bravely run the race ’til we see Christ.”
